We've been taking the girls with us to the polls since they were babies, and Eleanor is now at an age where she's starting to be much more curious about it. So homeschool today featured lots of questions and discussion about voting and why it's important.

They were mostly excited about the stickers and candy, but I'm hoping that these memories will lead to habits for them in their adult lives.

I really love making clay earrings, but finding time to sneak away to my office upstairs can be challenging. We recently decided to turn this little nook downstairs into a clay station, so that I can create during the small moments during the day when the girls are playing outside or focused on something else. It allows me to be near enough if they need me, while also having my work more easily accessible.

A height adjustable, stand-sit desk gifted from @flexispot_official is perfect for this space. It keeps everything high enough that Bea can't grab it 😂😂 (y'all know how two year olds are lol) The surface also has plenty of space for my tiles and all of my clay tools.

I'm really enjoying have this dedicated space in our living room and cannot wait to start my next collection!!

I never got around to sharing pictures from our vacation, so don't mind me while I reminisce (& possibly spam the pictures I didn't share) 😂😂

Truthfully, this trip feels like a lifetime ago rather than 6wks ago. In that time, we've said goodbye to Jeremy's wonderful grandma, had an ER trip & surgery, a nearly sunken kayak, and more.

In the midst of all of that, we've truly felt God surrounding and holding us. His peace has been overwhelmingly present and I am so grateful for that ❤️❤️

I don't know about you, but I've already seen SO many ads pushing all the things we "need" to give or receive for Christmas this year.

While there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying an expensive or fancy gift, I just wanted to remind you that there's also nothing wrong with giving a gift that costs little to nothing.

There's also nothing wrong with giving: your time, services, a hand written note, etc rather than a physical object.

Long story short: you don't have to (& shouldn't!) go into debt in order to celebrate the holidays with the people you love ❤️

One of the biggest struggles we’ve had with swit

One of the biggest struggles we’ve had with switching to less toxic products is that often the “greener” option doesn’t always work as well. It ends up taking a lot of trial and error to find a good balance between a product working well and it also being better for our family.

Thankfully, @get.dyper fits that bill. Their diapers and wipes are free from harmful ingredients (like fragrances, phthalates, lotions, parabens, and latex) and they also work extremely well. We’ve been using their diapers for several months now and they are truly the most absorbent and softest diapers we’ve used for our girls. The wipes are sturdy and hold up very well to big messes.

When I look at some of the food in our pantry and freezer, I see the labor of sweet family and friends who were kind enough to share their harvest bounty. I never want to take that generosity for granted, so I've been learning about different preservation methods. This winter, their kindness will fill our bellies with eggs, garlic, onions, and more.

One day, Lord willing, we'll have our own homestead. We don't currently have much land and we don't have a big kitchen, but we do have the ability to learn. I'm trying to make the most of this time in waiting and the resources we have available.

You don't have to have a homestead to be able to prepare for your family's needs or to cook meals from scratch. It just takes time, determination, and a bit of a mindset shift 😊
